Meet Sandi Gilsdorf, one of the Business Sales Leaders at ALLO (allocommunications.com) Fiber.

Tell us a little about your business. – ALLO is a local fiber internet, phone and TV provider. We have been in Nebraska 20 years. We currently have services in 37 communities across Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona. We also offer Managed Services and Next Gen Firewall solutions.

I work mostly with businesses in Lincoln, Ashland, Fremont and Waverly areas.

How did you get started in the business? – I don’t 100% know how I ended up in telecom/network sales, but I have been in B2B Sales since 2004. I started in yellow pages in customer service and when they re-organized someone said, “Have you ever thought about sales?” so I got my first sales position and haven’t looked back.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – One of the biggest challenges is getting businesses to see the importance of investing in their infrastructure. Everyone knows they need it, but change is struggle for most people. Often, we can help improve productivity, security and make their business more profitable.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my husband Craig for 20 years this fall. We have lived in Waverly since 2006 and have one boy, Tyler, who is a sophomore. We have a dog, KC, and a cat, Belson.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I’ve have had a couple.

One is when I moved out on my own in college, it really made me realize how much my parents did for me and my siblings growing up, including simple things like cleaning or making dinner and paying bills.

Two, becoming a parent myself. It is a whole new level of responsibility and stress. It is truly amazing how they can take over your world.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Read. I read a lot of books and spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy gardening and crafting.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Helpful.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – I change it on occasion, but right now it is I “Ain’t Worried” by One Republic.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Time, I need more of it.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I’m a very creative, artsy person.

What is your favorite movie? – Miracle.

What is your favorite TV show? – Right now, I am watching Winning Time and Virgin River, patiently awaiting Yellowstone to release. My all-time favorite is Friends.

What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – Lazlo’s.
