Tell us a little about your business.

The Woodlands at Hillcrest offers both assisted living and memory care options for our customers. Focused on providing the best hospitality in Lincoln, we promise to make every experience with us a positive one. Our goal is to be a place where every resident in our community feels a heightened sense of security and enjoys the ability to live as independently as possible.

How did you get started in the business?

I got my start in health care as a respiratory therapist.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Making the transition from a respiratory therapist to a director role in memory care.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Obtaining my master’s degree in healthcare administration.

Tell us a little about your family.

I’m originally from Utah but have lived in Nebraska for nine years. I have two boys ages 7 and 22. My husband Jeremy and I just celebrated 12 years of marriage.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

Finishing my master’s degree has allowed me to expand my impact in the industry while serving a population that can teach us so much.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I love to be outside! In the summer, I enjoy paddleboarding and, this winter, I would love to try snowshoeing.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I love everything Disney. In 2016, I ran the Walt Disney Marathon.

Who inspires you?

My boys. They have both had to overcome some really mature, adult situations, through which they have taught me to be stronger and give myself grace.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Kind.

If you could have a super power, what would it be

Flying so I could get to places I would love to travel to faster!

Which talent would you most like to have?

I would love to sing.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

Landscaper. To be outside and growing a plant from a seed to full bloom brings a sense of accomplishment.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides is the last book I read. I highly recommend it! My favorite book of all time is The Witching Hour by Anne Vice.

What is your favorite movie?

An Affair to Remember (1957).

What is your favorite TV show?

Law and Order.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

The Green Gateau.
