Miracle Mile Motors has been a part of the Lincoln community for over 45 years selling premium quality late model cars, trucks and SUV’s.  Tim Richter is the Manager of Miracle Mile Motors.

How did you get started in the business? – The summer after high school graduation, my brother Rob offered me a job at Miracle Mile Motors.  I thought that this would be a fun job before I headed off to college in the fall.  Well, I have been selling cars for 33 years now and college might have to wait another year.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Balancing work with family time is a big challenge when you are open six days a week.  But I believe that quality time is sometimes better than quantity.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – That would be building our new car lot and showroom, and moving the business out south to 87th and Highway 2.  My brother Rob and I are very proud of our business and our reputation speaks highly for the car dealership that we own and operate.

Tell us a little about your family. – I married my high school sweetheart, Joni, and we have three great kids.  Libby and her husband Greg, along with our granddaughter Avery, live in Omaha.  Our son, Jon is an Engineering Grad student at UNL and our youngest daughter, Kristin, is in her last year of Nursing at Clarkson in Omaha.  They all graduated from Pius X High School.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – When I was 16, my dad passed away from cancer.  With eight older siblings and as the last one living at home with my mom on the farm, I had to pull my bootstraps up pretty quickly in life.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Day off, what is that?? I do enjoy riding my new bike, working in my yard, spending time with my family and traveling.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I play a mean air guitar!

What are you the most proud of? – My family, by far, is what I am most proud of along with our reputation at Miracle Mile Motors.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The same advice I have given my kids—God gave you two ears and one mouth, so listen twice as much as you talk and treat others the way you want to be treated.
