Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF, dsafnebraska.org) will be offering CrossFit classes for adaptive athletes starting on January 7. The class will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Nutrition & Fitness, 720 Van Dorn St.

CrossFit for Adaptive Athletes is a program offered to young adult and adult members of DSAF with Down syndrome and other varying abilities who want to branch out and enjoy a safe, adaptable, and effective program that incorporates equipment used by athletes who practice CrossFit. Lyndsie Koon, PhD, is certified in adaptive training and has partnered with CrossFit Lincoln to bring this exciting new opportunity to DSAF members to build strength and confidence of participants. There will be enough coaches to accommodate up to 15 athletes for each session, so register now at dsafnebraska.org to reserve your spot!

Each class is $3 to participate. Classes are for those ages 13 and older. Those under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian to sign waiver to participate.
