The TeamMates Mentoring Program of Lincoln (www.lincolnteammates.org) is celebrating 25 Years of Inspiring Leadership Through Mentoring. Allstate Corporation and the Allstate Foundation are TeamMates community partners that foster leadership development within, encourage employees to serve as mentors, and offer financial support to the program.

Allstate Corporation (www.allstate.com) is the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America with more than 70,000 employees, agency owners and staff.  The Allstate Foundation leads national programs that support safer lives and stronger communities and since 2005 has championed teen safe driving programs and youth development.

In Lincoln, the organization’s leadership participates in large recruiting events and offered company incentives for each employee who applied to become a mentor. Allstate has generously given all of its mentors TeamMates shirts which they have worn on specified days to raise awareness within the organization. The TeamMates mentors recently appeared in a company newsletter along with information about upcoming TeamMates’ events, and the number of Allstate TeamMates mentors has recently grown from 16 to 30.

In addition, employees have been active participants in fund raisers generated by other community partners. Many Allstate mentors visited their mentees at least 24 times last academic year which forecasts better academic and behavior outcomes for mentees.

These Allstate activities assist TeamMates to pursue its aggressive goals for the 2015-2016 academic year: increasing the number of active mentor/mentee matches to 1,500, raising $200,000 from local businesses and individuals and awarding 40 scholarships to graduating mentees.
