Profile by Sanford is a comprehensive weight management program designed by Sanford Health physicians and scientists as a simple, effective and sustainable solution. The program utilizes a Certified Profile Coach and offers integrated complementary technology to directly connect the coach and the member throughout their journey. Clinical and scientific protocols have been designed to assist the coach in implementing an individualized plan for each member. The plan is designed with a focus on nutrition, activity and lifestyle adaptations required for short- and long-term success.
Located at 7121 Pioneers Blvd, Suite 130, the first Profile by Sanford location in Lincoln opened its doors in July of 2014. It is the 15th franchise location nationally and is locally owned and operated by Steve Holzwarth in partnership with his father, whose success story of losing close to 70 lbs. over the course of eight months with Profile inspired them to bring the franchise to Lincoln.
Give us a brief synopsis of what your company does.
We are a weight management company that tailors individualized weight loss programs to each of our members based on their height, weight, goals and lifestyle. Each member meets 1 on 1 with one of our certified health coaches each week and goes over their plan to make sure it is working safely and effectively for them and fits into their lifestyle.
What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours?
What sets us apart from our competitors is our personal accountability. We offer 1 on 1 coaching as well as the most up to date technology. We want to make sure our members are maintaining and sustaining their weight. If they reach their goal weight after 2 months, we are there for the remaining 10 months (if not longer) to make sure they are maintaining that goal weight.
What do you like about doing business in Lincoln?
I love that Lincoln is such a tight knit community. The members that are on the plan do a great job of spreading the word of our business and how well it has worked for them.
What kind of community organizations/groups are you involved with?
We are a part of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce as well as a BNI chapter. We also attend several networking gatherings in Lincoln as well.
Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement?
We are dedicated to the work of health and healing.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don’t know?
Profile was developed by a team of physicians and scientists at Sanford Health out of Sioux Falls, SD. Sanford is the largest not-for-profit rural healthcare facility in the U.S. with over 26,000 employees and 1,300 physicians.
What has been your most important achievement as a business?
Being able to help several people in the Lincoln area on their weight loss journey. It has been so rewarding to see how many people we have helped live a healthier lifestyle in less than a year.
What was the biggest turning point in your business?
The start of 2015. It was a combination of having 5+ months in the community spreading the word about our company and many Lincolnites having weight loss or a healthier lifestyle as their new year’s resolution.
What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years?
The fitness and wellness industry has expanded so much in the past few years. With companies focusing on health care we felt this is the perfect time to enter the Lincoln market and assist with businesses’ wellness programs in Lincoln and the surrounding area.
What do you see happening with the business in the next five years?
Our vision is to open one or two more locations in Lincoln. We hope to make the Lincoln community happier and healthier.
Is there anything else you’d like to highlight about Profile by Sanford?
Profile is affordable. A membership is typically $300 for a year. A membership includes 1 on 1 coaching each week with a certified health coach as well as a SMART scale that syncs wirelessly to your router at home. We partner with businesses (no cost to the business). All that entails is us coming to the business to educate their employees about Profile. Being an employer partner allows the employees to sign up at ½ off a membership ($150) and 20% off our product in the store. We are a great addition to businesses wellness programs that they have in place.
