What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – I was in management for ten years and then made a change in my career path and went back to direct patient care. This was a big change for me and it required me to dig deep for my organizational skills as I cared for multiple patients while also supervising the nursing staff. This move was a big challenge but it also gave me fulfillment as I provided care to my patients.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Going back to school to earn my bachelor’s degree.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband Mark and I have six children and seven grandchildren. Our children are all grown and away from the home so that leaves us able to spend time on the golf course and we also try to travel as much as possible. This sometimes consists of traveling to the homes of our grandchildren which is wonderful!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I moved from Auburn where I had been employed at Nemaha County Hospital for 17 years. It was a great career move for me and allowed me to learn about myself as a nurse as well as allowing me to obtain my Bachelor of Science degree.
