Habitat for Humanity to host Month-Long Women Build Program

Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln (www.lincolnhabitat.org/womenbuild) will host its annual Women Build program with increased volunteer opportunities. This year, Habitat Lincoln has increased the previously week-long program to span the entire month of May. Women Build will begin Thursday, May 2 and run through Friday, May 31. The program’s theme, “Girls Play House, Women Build Them,” encourages women of all ages, backgrounds, and industries to come together to build affordable homes and make a powerful and visible impact on their local community.

“Women Build is a truly unique and exciting opportunity for us women in the community to come together, no matter our skill level, and roll-up our sleeves to promote positive, women-led impact,” says Christina Zink, Habitat Lincoln’s development director.

Over the month of May, individuals, teams, and businesses will work together to raise funds and build homes. Funds raised will support building and repairing homes for low-income families in Lincoln and surrounding communities. Habitat Lincoln’s goal is to raise $10,000 and fill 16 build days (18,000 volunteer hours) with women volunteers.
