Global Ties Nebraska (lciv.org) (formerly known as the Lincoln Council for International Visitors) will be hosting a distinguished delegation of international leaders as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), November 13-19. The group will welcome educational leaders from Burma, Greenland, Israel, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Ukraine as part of a three-week exchange program focused on Education in the Digital Age.

The IVLP is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program, bringing together current and emerging foreign leaders to the United States to foster mutual understanding and establish long-term professional relationships. Selected by the U.S. Embassy in their respective countries, the visiting delegation includes key figures in education who are working to shape digital learning in their nations.

During their time in Lincoln, participants will engage in professional meetings, collaborative discussions and site visits tailored to their interests in education and technology. These meetings align with the United States’ foreign policy objectives, offering participants the opportunity to learn from local education experts, explore innovative practices and share insights from their home countries.

“We are excited to host this exceptional group of leaders and provide them with a meaningful exchange experience in Lincoln,” said Crystal Bock Thiessen, Executive Director of Global Ties Nebraska. “This visit reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering international collaboration and building connections that benefit both our local community and the world.”

Global Ties Nebraska is dedicated to creating opportunities for international exchange and promoting cultural understanding within the Lincoln community.
