The summer of 2023 will be a big one for Lincoln. With an impressive list of community events on the horizon, our team is anxiously preparing to welcome thousands of visitors to our community, and we are incredibly excited to be partnering with the 155th Air Refueling Wing of the Nebraska Air National Guard, the 55th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base, the Lincoln Airport Authority and the City of Lincoln to host the highly anticipated Guardians of Freedom Airshow August 26 – 27 at the Lincoln Airport.
With a strong history of hosting successful air shows dating back nearly 30 years, this year’s family-friendly event is shaping up to be another incredible milestone event for our community and for the region. The Guardians of Freedom airshow is expected to welcome over 250,000 visitors to Lincoln, which will have an immense impact on our local economy. It is also the first Lincoln airshow hosted in partnership with the 55th Wing of Offutt Air Force Base. This new partnership represents our community’s strong support and celebration of our flying forces, and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is proud to play a key role in the planning and hosting of this year’s event.
We are also excited to announce new, elevated experiences and opportunities at the airshow. In addition to the highly anticipated headlining act, the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, the Guardians of Freedom Airshow will also offer unique first-class performers, stunts, exhibits and displays. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Nebraska National Guard’s partnership program, members of the Czech Republic’s military will play a special role in the opening ceremonies, including their parachute team and honor guard. Premium seating will be available for purchase soon on our website at lincolnairshow.com. This is the first year we are offering this exclusive experience, which will be an incredible new benefit for spectators and provide additional enjoyment for such an amazing event.
Opportunities still exist for businesses to participate in our Airshow Corporate Partnership Program, offering exclusive airshow marketing opportunities and a platform to provide hospitality to customers, clients and employees while supporting a premier community event that will have a substantial impact on both Lincoln and the entire state.
