Welcoming You to Lincoln
If there has been one constant over the past few months, it’s that our environments are constantly changing, and we have to not only adapt but anticipate these changes.
That is easier said than done, especially during the ongoing COVID pandemic. There are many challenges that require great cooperation and careful consideration by many different entities.
There has been a profound effect on our everyday life and that certainly includes the travel and tourism industries. We are just now seeing many of our attractions attempt to return to operations if they had closed before and those that have opened previously continue to navigate different circumstances to safely host visitors.
I can truly say that our Lincoln attractions, hotels, and other destinations are consistently hitting the mark when it comes to adopting these new safety protocols and protecting the public.
The amount of options available when it comes to Lincoln’s sights to see gives our community the ability to host a wide variety of events and visitors. Indoor and outdoor spaces have different considerations while adapting to provide what attendees are looking for—safety, stability, and space to enjoy their outing.
The Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) continues to work closely with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and Mayor’s office as we assist attractions, event venues and the lodging industry in adhering to the various phases of Directed Health Measures. The planning of local events is done with the complete safety of attendees and the Lincoln community in mind, as we continue to work with event organizations to return their events to Lincoln. The accompanying residual benefit is one that touches all corners of our community.
Local attractions have been featured on the CVB’s social media pages in our “Safety Spotlight”, as we explore the steps they are taking to utilize PPE, provide for social distancing and practice other safety measures.
As we begin to think about activities and events for the remaining quarter of our year, 2021 and beyond, there will be an ongoing need to balance safety and mitigate the losses that have severely hit the travel and tourism industry. In order to welcome visitors to our community and the surrounding area, travelers must be confident that they will be kept safe with new protocols and procedures in place.
Through our ongoing collaborations with the city and Lincoln businesses, we created a new way to provide important personal protective equipment to companies while also supporting our local businesses. LNKPPE.com lists available PPE for purchase and use throughout our community, furthering our efforts to keep Lincoln safe.
Lincoln remains a wonderful city to explore and our local attractions and businesses are eager to safely welcome visitors.
