Meet Bud Synhorst, LIBA’s New President and CEO

Having been a LIBA member for the past several years, I was honored to be selected as your next president and CEO. My wife Nikki and I love our community and look forward to helping Lincoln prosper for many years to come.

The mission of LIBA is one I have great passion for and will work hard every day for you, our members. Throughout the process, the focus on education was something which really captured my passion to be your next leader. Coming from a background in association and nonprofit management, education is vital to any organization. I have enjoyed my preliminary conversations with the board, LIBA members, and others about how we provide leadership and education for the business community. Our number one goal at LIBA will be to add value to our members!

One of my first meetings after the announcement was with the Mayor’s Office, to reach out to them from the start and establish a relationship for moving forward. We had a great discussion and have a plan to talk regularly to discuss matters impacting business owners in Lincoln. I truly appreciate their open door to visit and discuss issues. I look forward to hearing from our members about how we can work with everyone at City Hall and be your voice with our elected officials.

Since the announcement in August, I have been attending as many events as possible to meet our members. I have been overwhelmed and humbled by the warm reception from everyone I have been able to meet. I am excited to be moved into my new office and ready to serve our members, the business community, and Lincoln. Working together we can achieve great heights for the vital role business owners play in our community.

Moving forward, we are going to continue to focus on growing membership with LIBA. We need all of us working together to continue to grow our organization.

Finally, a bit of personal information about our family. My wife Nikki and I were married eight years ago. We both graduated from Pius X. Nikki works with Lincoln Public Schools in the health department, is a certified Jazzercise instructor, and volunteers at Cathedral School. Our oldest daughter Grace is a freshman at Black Hills State University studying in the physical therapy field. Our daughter Allyson is a sophomore at Southwest High School and is very active in the theatre program. Our youngest daughter Chloe is a second grader at Cathedral School. Our “fur children” at home are our Himalayan cat named Pinecone and Golden Retriever named Casey.
