Cornhusker Bank is honored to have been named one of Lincoln’s Best Places to Work in 2013 from a nominated field of nearly 100 Lincoln companies.  Associates proactively completed surveys responding to how they felt about the workplace culture, their compensation, job satisfaction and answered positively to questions such as, “My immediate supervisor cares about my development.”

The bank’s mission statement supports the central idea that Cornhusker Bank is a community bank committed to creating a culture passionate about Service and Stewardship that is built upon a solid foundation of our core values and always demonstrating “Commitment to your Success”.  According to Cornhusker Bank President Barry Lockard, “Our mission statement holds true not only for our customers, but for our associates as well.  Development of each staff member’s talents result in job satisfaction and a higher standard of the quality of commitment they in turn exhibit to our customers and community.”

In 2010, Cornhusker Bank developed four “Innovation Teams” (pictured on the cover) to give associates a path through which they could actively participate in enhancing  areas throughout the organization for which they held a true passion, regardless of position.  Those four teams, including Process Efficiencies, Internal and External Customer Experience, Marketing and Communication, and Wellness have proven to be a tremendous driver for our positive culture.  In the three years since their development, these teams have developed new programs, processes, recognitions, and avenues by which we have be able to deepen relationships with our associates, our customers and our community.

Community commitment has also been exhibited in our outreach events, such as our One Day Without Shoes event in April, which benefited the People’s City Mission with nearly $9,000 in monetary donations and nearly 10,000 pairs of shoes this year.  The People’s City Mission recently recognized Cornhusker Bank with their Business Partner of the Year award for our third year of putting an innovative spin on a world-wide TOMS Shoes One Day Without Shoes promotion.  Bank associates used this event to connect with organizations and businesses throughout the community to arrange drop sites for shoes.  Simultaneously, in the month of April, our staff was participating in multiple fund-raising events for the American Heart Association’s local Heart Walk.  Bank staff members participated in events ranging from a dodge ball tournament to simply donating funds for the right to wear t-shirts or jeans.  Chairman John Dittman reported, “As a community bank, we feel events like these are not only a boost to our associates, but help us all give back to our local organizations in an innovative fashion.”

Whether it comes from recognition for being a great place to work, being a trusted business partner, or being a financial partner who understands the way you want to do business, Cornhusker Bank remains committed to your success.  Our staff invites you to stop by any location and would enjoy the opportunity to meet you and discover how they can be of service to you.  For more information, please visit us at CornhuskerBank.com.
