The newly opened Cornhusker Bank Center at 8310 O Street is designed with that mission in mind.
Designed with state of the art technology and associates who exhibit the bank’s values of caring deeply, delivering the “WOW” experience, building positive relationships and doing life together, the bank is able to offer a complete suite of financial services, all under one roof. The new location is the bank’s seventh full-service facility and houses corporate offices, as well as retail banking, commercial lending, small business services, private banking, financial services, insurance, wealth management, operations and IT teams. This creates synergies between departments which will enhance the experience for customers and associates. It also holds a community room for use by associates and community groups.

According to Barry Lockard, President/CEO, “The new center is designed to foster our hub and spoke model, allowing us to drive our proven solutions out to each of our existing branches, including the former corporate location at 11th and Cornhusker Highway, which will remain a full-service branch. Each of the existing branches remains a vital component of serving our market with excellence and convenience.”
The building contains 55,000 square feet and was built with a philosophy of being good environmental stewards. A recycling program is in effect throughout the building. A master computer system controls lighting, heating and air conditioning, and self-monitors for maximum energy efficiency.
The lower level of the building holds the 145-seat community room, a kitchen, a dining/conference room, two shower areas with lockers, a fully-equipped training room, and a lecture room. The first-floor lobby is the center for customers’ retail experience, including an interactive Kids Zone and a striking glass and terrazzo stairway connecting to the second floor. It was designed to foster collaborative interactions, which are the heartbeat of the bank’s 360 model, between retail, lending, mortgage, financial services, insurance, and wealth management. The second floor is a central point for bank associates to help customers create roadmaps connecting them to resources and financial solutions ranging from creating budgets, finding lending solutions for businesses or personal mortgages, to estate planning.
The third floor of the building holds an operations area, where the bank staff works in a space with great views and abundant natural light. There are collaborative meeting spaces on this floor to encourage team synergies across our loan processing, operations, IT, and mortgage processing teams. The fourth floor houses executive offices, marketing, communications, human resources/talent development and finance.
