Celebrating Mother’s Day in Lincoln, NE – 2019

It’s that time of year to start thinking about how we want to celebrate the moms in our lives this Mother’s Day—Sunday, May 12. There are many ways to show our appreciation and love for our mothers, but quality time is always best. Being a mom is stressful, everyone knows that, especially moms…but we were surprised to find out that flowers actually have the ability to lower stress. “This is why a lot of people turn to gardening to combat anxiety or depression,” Gary explained. “Not only is the experience of growing things cathartic, but floral scents can do a lot to lower stress. Bring home a sachet of something soothing like lavender or chamomile and you mom will feel her troubles melt away. Even a fresh sprig of rosemary may help with headaches and tension!”

It’s not something that we should only make an effort to do once a year, but on Mother’s Day, it’s nice to go out of our way to really show our moms how much they mean to us. Besides offering amazing floral arrangements for special occasions, Fields Floral is also known for their Wine & Design events.

“Once a month, we open our doors and invite guests to participate in a DIY class, during which attendees can design a centerpiece or arrangement together while enjoying some drinks and snacks,” Sara informed us. “Our next events will be on May 2 and June 6—I could see mothers and daughters really enjoying this kind of activity together! For $45 per person, we will provide the materials, appetizers, and project guidance to create a fun experience at our floral shop.”

Sara went on to say that even if you can’t make it to the Wine & Design event on one of those dates, doing some type of interactive craft with mom for Mother’s Day is still a great idea! You can plan a craft project for you and your mom to do right at home. There are so many neat DIY things out there. Not only will this be fun to do together, whatever you make will become a special gift and keepsake.
