As students across Nebraska sharpen their pencils, fill their backpacks and head back into the classroom, another school year brings with it an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact. Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) of Nebraska (cefofnebraska.org) is wrapping up another successful summer of ministry through its Good News Club® Summer Outreach programs and Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA™) teams.
Now, as schools reopen, the focus shifts to one of the most exciting ministries of the year—Good News Clubs.
Good News Clubs are after-school Bible clubs that meet in public schools, community centers, churches and other locations where children can gather in a safe and welcoming environment. Led by trained volunteers, these clubs teach biblical truths, character development, respect and the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
Across Nebraska, there are hundreds of schools where children have little or no opportunity to attend a Good News Club. While the doors remain open in many communities, they simply do not have enough volunteers or partnering churches to meet the growing need.
Whether you are a retired educator, college student, parent, grandparent, pastor, or someone with a heart for children, there is a place for you to serve. Local churches also play a vital role by adopting schools, providing volunteer teams, praying for clubs and helping establish new ministries.
