For the last 15 years, in conjunction with KFOR Radio, Legacy Retirement Communities (legacyleadershipcollective.com) have had the privilege of shining a light on the unsung heroes in the Lincoln community at their Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Awards Luncheon. This year, they presented three awards: the Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Award, the Cathy Blythe Caring Heart Award, and the Humble Servant Award.
The 2025 recipient of the Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Award, Thomas Mills, received $2,500 to pay forward to the nonprofits of his choice. He is choosing to support the We Can Do This Organization, Friendship Home, Meals on Wheels, and Live Well Go Fish.
Molly Hofker, daughter of Cathy Blythe, presented the Cathy Blythe Caring Heart Award to Audrey Watson, who is choosing to pay her $2,500 forward to TeamMates of Lincoln, as well as to the Foster Care Closet of Nebraska.
The recipient of the Humble Servant Award, Keenan Cain, is splitting $1,000 between TeamMates of Lincoln and the Lincoln Bike Kitchen.
Congratulations to each of the 2025 winners! These awards have been given since 2011, in memory of Jerry Joyce, founder of the Legacy Retirement Communities–to honor those in the Lincoln community who exhibit the same kind of quiet, giving spirit that Jerry had shown to others in his life.
Legacy Retirement Communities continues to provide Lincoln with award-winning elegance, superior care, and countless reasons to live an enriched life.
