2nd Annual Lied Center Piano Academy Slated for Summer
Lied Center Piano Circle (www.liedcenter.org/pianoacademy), Lied staff, and the Glenn Korff School of Music are excited to host the second annual Lied Center Piano Academy (LCPA), July 7–13.
The Academy will take place at the Lied Center for Performing Arts and the Glenn Korff School of Music (GKSOM) on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. LCPA is designed for students entering grades nine through their first year of college, fall 2019.
The Academy Artist is the charismatic rising star Sean Chen. He, along with Lied Center Artistic Director Dr. Ann Chang, GKSOM faculty, Academy Manager Donna Gunn, and guest professionals, will provide young talented pianists intensive training to raise their level of performance, engage in thought-provoking workshops, and help develop lifelong relationships with other serious young pianists.
Lied Center’s Piano Circle members, all with deep experience and expertise in piano, are strong advocates for providing exceptional teaching for performance and music education.
Academy tuition is $250. Room/board in suite-style dormitories on the UNL campus is $317. Every student accepted to LCPA will receive a $150 scholarship, provided by the Lied Center Piano Circle. Additional scholarships are available. Application fee is $50. Deadline for application is June 1 and capacity is limited.
