BBB Offers Contests with Cash Awards to High School Students in Lincoln

The Better Business Bureau (bbb.org/nebraska) will accept entries for their High School Video Contest from Monday, February 3 to Friday, February 28. The winners will be announced on Friday, March 13. This competition provides an opportunity for high school students to creatively learn the values of BBB—trust, honesty, reliability and objectiveness—helping them discover how these ideals can be applied in their everyday lives. Contestants will gain valuable marketing experience because they are also challenged to get the most views on the contest’s website by promoting their videos that will be posted on bbbvideocontest.org/lincoln-greaterne.

Students may enter individually or form teams of two to four people. First and second place prizes will be awarded. Five hundred dollars cash will be given to the creator(s) of the winning video, and a $2,000 donation of video equipment will be given to their school. Additionally, $250 cash will be awarded to the second place video, and $1,000 for video equipment will be given to their school. Winners will be determined by how well the entry adheres to BBB’s brand, expresses the theme “Start With Trust” or “Ask BBB,” the quality of the video’s production, and how many times it’s been viewed on the contest’s website at bbbvideocontest.org. In addition, three seniors from Metro Lincoln/Greater Nebraska will each be granted a $2,000 BBB Student of Integrity Award Scholarship for college. These awards are not based on ethnicity, need, or grade point average, but recognize students who exemplify ethical behavior and personal integrity.

The application guide with complete instructions and required forms can be accessed at bbb.org/nebraska by clicking on “Student of Integrity Award Scholarships” box. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, March 6 and sent to BBB’s office in Lincoln to be considered by the judges. Scholarship winners will be announced in April.
