Carson+Co Global Recognized for Recycling and Composting Efforts
Mayor Chris Beutler is recognizing local organizations for their efforts to divert waste from the city landfill. The organizations and businesses are part of the Recycle Lincoln Leadership Recognition Program (recycle.lincoln.ne.gov/recognition). The City Recycling Office started the program to reward local organizations for their recycling and/or composting efforts.
The program has four leadership levels depending on the percentage of their waste that they recycle or compost:
- Bronze – 20% to 39%
- Silver – 40% to 59%
- Gold – 60% to 89%
- Zero Waste – 90% or more
Three businesses have achieved the Zero Waste level: Carson+Co Global (carsoncoglobal.com), Lincoln Running Company, and The Printer.
The City has also awarded 11 Gold-level designations: Arbor Day Foundation; Assurity Life Insurance; Embassy Suites by Hilton; Gamma Phi Beta; Goodwill Industries; HBE; House of Flowers; NeighborWorks Lincoln; Region V Systems; Star City Heating & Cooling; and Zipline Brewing.
Organizations with new or existing recycling programs are encouraged to apply to the Recycle Lincoln Leadership Recognition Program, to join this network of community leaders and to showcase their teams’ values and culture.
