Community members gathered in celebration as Eden Child Care (edenchildcarelincoln.com), a new 24/7 early childhood education and care facility, officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 2. Founded by local entrepreneur and child care advocate Hibah Jabbar, Eden Child Care is designed to meet the needs of working families across Lincoln, particularly those in need of flexible, high-quality child care around the clock.

Held at the center’s newly renovated location at 2980 Holdrege St., the ceremony brought together families, city leaders, supporters and early childhood education professionals to mark the start of a new chapter for Lincoln’s child care landscape. Attendees enjoyed guided tours of the state-of-the-art facility, refreshments and remarks from community leaders.

Eden Child Care is unique in its 24/7 model, offering flexible care for children ages 6 weeks through 13 years. The programming emphasizes: bilingual instruction and multicultural learning, safe and enriching environments for nighttime care, and healthy meals tailored to children’s needs.

The center’s opening represents years of planning and collaboration with local stakeholders, such as Erickson Sullivan Architects, ECHO Collective, Lincoln Littles and Community Development Resources, and reflects a broader commitment to economic mobility and family stability.

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird shared during the event, “Child care centers like Eden are catalysts for economic mobility and opportunity. They empower parents to pursue stable jobs and further their education, grow their businesses and ultimately take care of little ones.”

Eden Child Care is now enrolling children and hiring qualified staff. Families and professionals interested in learning more can visit www.edenchildcarelincoln.com or call (402) 419-8293.
