Imagine you’re locked in a room, surrounded by an enigmatic array of puzzles, clues, and brain teasers. The only thing stopping you from being able to leave is your ability—and the ability of possibly five other people locked in the room with you—to solve the mystery surrounding you in under sixty minutes.
A part of the growing worldwide trend, Lincoln’s first escape room is opening October 2015 on Saturdays and Sundays in Lincoln’s downtown Historic Haymarket. Located in the lower level of the Apothecary building, Escape Lincoln (www.escapelincoln.com) is an entertainment establishment that envelops teams in a mentally-challenging, life-size puzzle.
Escape Lincoln will offer three room options, each decked out with a unique and original theme and storyline: Cicada 3301: the search for intelligent individuals; The Heist: break in, steal, get out; and Alien Abduction: can you solve the extraterrestrial mystery in the dark?
Tickets cost $30 per person, a maximum of six people per room, with the option to reserve rooms for private parties (large and small). Private corporate team building events will be available at the beginning of 2016, which include multiple-room reservations and team building exercises.
