Fields Floral and Cutts Floral Distributers Participate in National Petal It Forward Day

On October 23, florists nationwide randomly surprised people on the streets with flowers for National Petal It Forward Day. Local flower shop Fields Floral (www.fieldsfloral.com), along with Lincoln’s only floral wholesaler Cutts Floral Distributers, participated in this wonderful community initiative for the second year in a row, and they enjoyed bringing smiles to many strangers’ face with a beautiful flower. The Fields Floral and Cutts team, lead by Owner Sara Sudman, invited their friends and family to volunteer with them and help hand out flowers at six of Lincoln’s busiest intersections through the lunch hours. During this “random act of kindness” flower giveaway, people received two floral bouquets (or flowers)—one to keep and one to share—to demonstrate the Rutgers University Research that shows flowers make people happy and have a long-term positive effect on moods and that people report the best reason to receive flowers is “just because.”
