First National Bank of Omaha Awards $40K in Grants to Fund Housing

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO, fnbo.com/community) recently announced its first round of Impact Grant recipients for 2021, including a total of $40,000 in grants awarded to organizations in the Lincoln area. The following grants will support affordable housing and neighborhood stability programs:

  • A $10,000 grant to the Lincoln/Lancaster Habitat for Humanity will provide funding for affordable home construction materials.
  • A $10,000 grant to Lincoln Housing Charities will support the construction of one affordable home in partnership with the Lincoln Housing Authority.
  • A $20,000 grant to NeighborWorks Lincoln will provide funding to build one to three affordable homes in Lincoln.

FNBO awarded a total of $862,000 in Impact Grants to 49 organizations in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, South Dakota, and Texas. The grants support programs related to affordable housing and neighborhood stability, as well as entrepreneurship and small-business development. In Nebraska and western Iowa, FNBO awarded $605,000 in Impact Grants to 29 organizations across the region.
