First National Bank of Omaha Awards $880K in Community Development Grants

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO; www.fnbo.com) recently announced its first round of Community Development Grant recipients for 2020, including two organizations in the Lincoln area that support affordable housing and neighborhood stability programs. A $10,000 grant to NeighborWorks Lincoln will provide funding for housing and homeownership programs in Lincoln. In addition, FNBO awarded a $10,000 grant to Lincoln/Lancaster Habitat for Humanity to support housing construction and rehabilitation in the Lincoln area.

FNBO awarded a total of $880,000 in Community Development Grants to 47 organizations in in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, South Dakota, and Texas. Grants for affordable housing and neighborhood stability programs will enable FNBO’s community partners to build, rehabilitate, or finance about 550 homes across the bank’s seven-state footprint.

Grants supporting entrepreneurship and small-business development initiatives will create or retain about 2,160 jobs. In Nebraska and western Iowa, the bank awarded $593,000 in Community Development Grants to 26 organizations. FNBO’s Community Development Grant Program directs its investments to proven community partners who are working to create positive outcomes in the areas where need is greatest and results are best realized.
