First National Bank Salutes Military at Husker Spring Game

First National Bank (www.firstnational.com) provided 3,000 tickets to active military, veterans and their families to the 2017 Red-White Husker Spring Football Game. As the Official Bank of Husker Nation, First National offered the tickets as a way to show its appreciation to those who have served in America’s Armed Forces.

First National Bank’s “Husker Spring Game Military Salute” initiative also included a special homecoming for a service member and his family. In partnership with Husker Athletics, the bank welcomed home SSG Matthew Hawke of Lincoln, Nebraska. Hawke’s surprise reunion with his family took place on the field of Memorial Stadium during the coin toss at the start of the game. SSG Hawke had been serving in Afghanistan since June 2016.

During a special on-field ceremony featuring the bank’s Chairman and President Clark Lauritzen, First National Bank was recognized for renewing its relationship with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletics as the Official Bank of Husker Nation. Also announced was First National’s new agreement with the University to serve as the official Presenting Sponsor of the Red-White Husker Spring Game going forward.
