Groundbreaking Held for Gatehouse Rows, Developed by Hoppe Development

On September 1, Hoppe Development (www.hoppedevelopment.com) broke ground on Gatehouse Rows, a 98 unit affordable housing project on the western edge of Wyuka Cemetery. the first large-scale response to Lincoln’s adopted affordable housing action plan. Remarks were given by Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, Lincoln Chamber President Wendy Birdsall; and the development sponsors from Hoppe Development, Ward “Fred” Hoppe and Jake Hoppe.

Gatehouse Rows is the first large-scale response to Lincoln’s adopted affordable housing action plan. It is situated on the edge of an established neighborhood and the historic Wyuka Cemetery, and will include amenities such as a walking trail, clubhouse, playground, and community garden. The units were designed to take advantage of the wooded, park-like setting and preserve the neighborhood’s access to the walking trails of the cemetery.
