A Motorcycle & Bicycle Safety Ride recently took place on Saturday, May 23rd in honor of Gabe Tau Wilken, who was fatally wounded as a result of a hit and run accident while riding his motorcycle on January 16th. Group Therapy Bike Tours provided transportation as a sponsor and was joined by many other cyclists who joined in the fun, all-day awareness ride across Lincoln, with stops at Shoemaker’s, Frontier Harley-Davidson, Red Fox Steakhouse, Guns 2 Roses, Gate 25, the Capital Building and The Keg. The event raised funds to support the Wilken family, as well as donations (can still be made at Uniform Connection or online at UCBlog.co) and t-shirt proceeds (type “Gabe” in search bar at scrubfashion.com) going to G.A.B.E.S. Education Foundation.

G.A.B.E.S. Education Foundation was created with the vision of free education to raise awareness and to teach motorists how to safely drive around bicycles and motorcycles. The Foundation will strive to partner with motorist groups, driver education programs, high schools, and many others to teach motorists how to share the road safely and correctly to allow everyone to enjoy the ride. Group Therapy owners Drew and Katie Philippi and staff were honored to participate in the ride to support safety and awareness in the Lincoln community.
