Hickman Area Chamber Established

There is now a Chamber of Commerce (www.hickmanchamber.org) dedicated to the thriving business community in nearby Hickman, NE and the surrounding small communities that encompass the Norris School District! With the growth in the population and commerce in the area and the significant boost to the economy that has come with it in recent years, it was decided that the time was right to form a Chamber of Commerce. Making its official debut this spring, the Hickman Area Chamber of Commerce was established with a goal of providing economic development support focused on that specific area. It’s one that includes startups, long-time neighborhood stores, mid-sized and large companies, and a tight-knit business community where everyone is invested in helping one another succeed.

The first order of business has been addressing a major lack of housing, and the Hickman Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking ideas to develop multi-family and apartment housing in the community. Another focus of its growth plan is attracting small and startup businesses to the area versus large corporations.
