The James Arthur Vineyards Tasting Room held its Grand Opening on the weekend of July 11th – July 13th.  Jim and Barb Ballard, co-owners of James Arthur Vineyards in Raymond, NE recently purchased From Nebraska Gift Shop in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket District from longtime owner Connie Mahaney. The gift shop, which has been in operation for 25 years, will continue to be the prime location for customers looking for the best gourmet Nebraska food baskets, gifts and souvenirs. The store’s Tasting Room has been expanded and will feature James Arthur Vineyard’s award winning wines.  Wine can be purchased by the bottle, glass, or wine tasting—all served from the artistically constructed bar made from a vintage grain bin that was formerly used to store corn.

The Grand Opening, in the historic Huber Building at 803 “Q” St., kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 10th with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. Live music, Nebraska food demos, wine specials and a book signing with Lincoln author Scott McPherson took place throughout the weekend. With the acquisition of the From Nebraska Gift Shop and the opening of the new Tasting Room, the winery hopes to continue to share its wines and Nebraska story with visitors to Lincoln’s Haymarket area.
