Legacy Retirement Communities Introduces New Technology to Residents
Legacy Retirement Communities (www.legacyretirement.com) is proud to announce that they have incorporated the iN2L System into the Legacy Arbors Memory Care daily programming. The iN2L (It’s Never 2 Late) is a person-centered computer system that empowers and entertains residents, while helping them maintain their dignity through the use of technology. According to Michelle Carlson, Legacy Arbors Activity Director, “Regardless of age and physical or cognitive ability, residents can use and enjoy the iN2L on many different levels. This system provides programming that is accessible to residents with a press of a button.” iN2L expands the ability to offer a greater variety of activities for recreation, social connection and memory care engagement in groups or one-on-one. The variety of programs encourages balance among the dimensions of wellness: social, physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual.
Resident families are able to download pictures and videos to each resident’s “My Page,” allowing residents to have access to personally chosen web sites, games and activities and to foster communication between family members and residents. Programs include multiple exercise videos designed to improve strength and balance including a virtual flight simulator, yoga, tai chi, but also content categorized to enhance the speech, physical and occupational therapy experience.
The Legacy Arbors has been a part of the Legacy Retirement Communities family since it opened in 2005. It is an assisted living memory care community designed to help people and their families dealing with memory care issues.
