Lincoln Airport Announces TSA Executive Order Requiring Masks Throughout Airport
The Lincoln Airport Authority (lincolnairport.com) announced a TSA Executive Order that went into effect February 2 requires travelers to wear face masks at airport screening checkpoints and at all times throughout the airport. Failure to comply with The Executive Order Promoting Safety in Domestic and International Travel will result in denial of entry to the screening area and may result in penalties. The Lincoln Airport has signage on the doors and information on their website to remind passengers, tenants, and airport guests about the mandate, and they have free masks available for those who might forget to bring theirs. The TSA order is expected to remain effective until May 11, but all commuters and airline travelers—including those considering international travel—should check the CDC website at cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers for requirements prior to taking any trip.
Throughout the pandemic, TSA has closely coordinated COVID-19 safeguards with industry stakeholders, federal partners, and local law enforcement. This coordination will continue for swift and consistent implementation of this order across the transportation network. To read details about the TSA order, visit tsa.gov/new/press/releases.
