On April 12th, 2025, the Lincoln Airport (lincolnairport.com) proudly celebrated its second year sponsoring the Women in Aviation Cornhusker Chapter’s Plane Pull. The second annual event was a massive success, combining awareness and education for the future of women pursuing careers in the aviation industry with a high-energy event. The LNK ramp came to life from 8:00 am to noon with 25 combined teams in the men’s, women’s, and co-ed divisions competing for the coveted trophies. The Lincoln Airport Authorities team came to compete, taking home the trophy in the co-ed division!
The event was another strong showing from the Lincoln community and a great example of what happens when passion and purpose come together. The Lincoln Airport, alongside Duncan Aviation, Commute Air, Kirkham Micheal, Sadoff Iron & Metal, and Atlantic Aviation, sponsored this special event and helped make it successful. A special thank you to Silverhawk Aviation, who provided the plane that was pulled, an essential part in making this event possible.
The partnership with the WIA Cornhusker Chapter continues to be one that LNK is incredibly proud of. It is more than just a sponsorship; it is a way to uplift future aviators and strengthen connections between the airport and young women with sky-high dreams while having competitive fun. The Lincoln Airport wants to thank the WIA Cornhusker Chapter team who made this year’s plane pull a success, and are looking forward to another great event next year!
