MembersOwn Credit Union Provides COVID Financial Relief for Members

MembersOwn Credit Union (MembersOwnCU.org) has lived up to their mission to provide a cost-effective, accessible source of financial goods and services to their members during the pandemic, delivering extensive relief and emergency loans to help them meet the challenges of the day. Since COVID arrived, MembersOwn has so far waived member fees and skipped 264 loan payments for 144 members, totaling more than $50,000 in deferred payments during the pandemic.

The not-for-profit financial cooperative is locally owned by members who save and borrow there. As such, MembersOwn has been able to offer unique solutions to members’ financial challenges during the pandemic and beyond. Their role in the community is to provide a cost-effective, accessible source of financial goods and services to all members of their Nebraska communities. They place an emphasis on people over profits and believe in the importance of giving back, with a commitment of support to organizations working to make our communities a better place.
