Gary Michael’s Clothiers (garymichaels.com), a longtime staple in Lincoln’s menswear scene, has officially transitioned ownership. As of September 2025, Nathen Rutt has purchased the business from founder Gary Novotny.
Founded in 1983 by Novotny, Gary Michael’s Clothiers has built a reputation for quality menswear and personalized service. Rutt has been part of the Gary Michael’s team since 1993 and has served as store manager since 1998, bringing decades of experience and continuity into his new role as owner. Under Rutt’s leadership, the store will continue its focus as a men’s specialty shop, maintaining its commitment to customer service and tailored style. Novotny will remain involved in the business and continue working in the store, supporting the transition and ongoing operations.
