Raising Cane’s Donates School Supplies to Help Students in Need

From July 15 through August 4, the local Raising Cane’s (www.raisingcanes.com) restaurants are collecting new and packaged school supplies. All donated supplies will be given to local schools in the community to help students in need. Individuals who donate school supplies will receive a free 22oz fresh squeezed lemonade in exchange for their support of the cause. Additional support can also be given by adding any dollar amount when ordering at the restaurants.

This is the 11th year the Raising Cane’s franchise—Southern Hospitality Ventures—is holding the school supplies drive at their restaurants. Since 2009, thousands of school supplies and nearly $49,000 have been donated to schools in their restaurant’s communities.

“We believe education is one of the most important tools a child has to ensure they develop to their full potential. It’s through education that our children are able to grow into impactful adults and leaders of our communities,” says Jennifer Jones, co-owner of the Raising Cane’s franchise. “With your help, students will be provided with the school supplies they need to have a successful school year.”

The Raising Cane’s franchise—Southern Hospitality Ventures—was opened in 2006 by Justin and Jennifer Jones, who moved to Nebraska from Louisiana. Since opening their first location, they have set out to make a change in their restaurants communities by becoming active community leaders with programs such as this one. Since 2006, the franchise has given back over $1.8 million to the communities in which their restaurants are located.

Raising Cane’s has One Love—quality chicken finger meals—and focuses its menu offering on fresh, made-to-order chicken fingers paired with their homemade Cane’s sauce, grilled Texas toast, fresh coleslaw, and crinkle-cut fries.  Learn more by going to the Lincoln Raising Cane’s Facebook and Twitter page (@RaisingCanesSHV).
