Road Sentinel (roadsentinel.net), an AI computer vision company, announces the completion of their AI inspection prototype that quickly determines if a road safety barrier or guard rail structure is damaged or not operational. Using proprietary high resolution 3D imagery and computer vision, Road Sentinel greatly reduces the time to inspect and prioritize repairs and could save three lives per day.

Our vision is to become the worldwide leader in AI solutions, data collection and predictive analysis for the transportation industry by making road safety inspections safe, fast and cost effective.

It can take a long time to inspect our roadways manually, and in doing so, it puts employees in danger by forcing them to leave the vehicle to inspect. Also, because these inspections may only happen once every one to five years, it increases the odds that they may be slightly damaged over time and risks the lives of drivers every second.

After spending years designing and selling road safety products, Road Sentinel saw the horror of accidents involving faulty guardrail end-treatments and vowed to find a way to minimize these deaths and injuries in the future.

In March, the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development announced the expansion of its LaunchLNK Grant Program, awarding $20,000 non-dilutive grant to Road Sentinel, in addition to the $100,000 investment made by NMotion and Invest Nebraska.
