Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, has expanded its fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor to the Pine Lake neighborhood of Lincoln. The expansion was spearheaded by restaurant veterans and local franchisees Bill and Stacie Hooks. This is the second location for the husband-and-wife duo, who opened the state’s debut location at 84th & Old Cheney earlier this year. Located at 1601 Pine Lake Rd., the restaurant opened on April 20 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. This is the second of five locations the Hooks plan on opening in the Cornhusker State.
Focusing on fresh chicken, the down-home Southern brand offers diners hand-breaded or grilled chicken tenders, paired with a choice of eight handmade dipping sauces or seven handmade wing sauces for exceptional flavor, which have earned admiration from both customers and critics. If guests want to switch it up, Slim Chickens also offers fresh salads, wraps and chicken and waffles. To offset the savory side of the menu, rotating desserts served in Mason jars are available. Both Lincoln restaurants have a liquor license, and of-age guests have the option of ordering beer to accompany their fresh, hand-battered chicken and homemade dipping sauces.
