SP Group, P.C. Holds Funday Friday Sumo Suit Challenge During Tax Season
This year, during the long month of March, the SP Group, P.C. (spgrouppc.com) team had a “Funday Friday Sumo Suit Challenge.” The team was divided into groups of four, then challenged to a friendly game of ping pong, a putting contest, or dance off. It was a nice time to relax with an hour of fun and games.
At the beginning of every year, the workload for accountants is kicked into high gear through the daily churn of preparing tax returns for the next several months, as the April 15 deadline looms in the distance. Long hours accompanied by the week to week grind can lead to fatigue and burnout, but not at SP Group. Tax Season Saturdays or Funday Fridays are sprinkled throughout the season and give the team the boost needed to make it over the hump.
The four core values of SP Group, a growing entrepreneurial accounting firm, are the aim of these fun challenges. These values include life/work balance, competitiveness, teamwork, and relationships. Each of the four core values were part of this challenge, and this competitive sports-minded culture always makes the firm better at achieving success for its clients.
