Tobacco Free Lancaster County (tobaccofreelancastercounty.org) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Nebraska Tobacco Quitline. A cornerstone of public health, the Nebraska Tobacco Quitline offers free, confidential support to quit tobacco. Available 24/7 and in over 200 languages, the Nebraska Tobacco Quitline provides accessibility to anyone seeking support on their quit journey.

With a wide array of support options, including one-on-one coaching, educational resources and assistance in acquiring quit medications such as the gum, patch or lozenge, the Nebraska Tobacco Quitline has equipped thousands with the effective tools to quit tobacco for good.

To mark this milestone, the Nebraska Tobacco Quitline is broadening its reach by introducing a new text-based coaching service tailored to youth 18 and younger. Youth can now text “Start My Quit” to 36072 to access personalized support and resources for their journey towards a tobacco-free life. The program offers education, quit planning and progress tracking, along with access to a live coach for one-on-one coaching – all provided 100% through text messaging.

Tobacco Free Lancaster County commends the Nebraska Tobacco Quitline’s enduring dedication to better health and celebrates the expanded services to further support youth in our community to live tobacco-free.

Funding for Tobacco Free Lancaster County is provided by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services/Tobacco Free Nebraska Program as a result of the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement. For more information, go to tobaccofreelancastercounty.org.
