Veterans Parade Group Seeks Support for November 8 Event Honoring Vietnam Vets
The Veterans Parade (www.lincolnveteransparade.org), organized by the Lincoln Veterans Parade Group and hosted by Sandhills Global, is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, starting at 2 p.m. at Lincoln High School and ending at the Lincoln Capitol. Opening ceremonies are on the north steps of the Capitol. The Veterans Parade Group is seeking support for the event, including volunteers for before and the day of the parade, parade entries, and donations to help our local veterans and their families. Lincoln public and private high-school marching bands will be performing, and the parade also will feature floats, vehicles, military organizations, and other civic groups.
This year, the Lincoln Veterans Parade Group and the Lincoln community are honoring all those who served during the Vietnam War, a troubled time when many of our service members returned home to hate and regret. This is the time to remember and pay tribute to these veterans, along with their brothers-in-arms—many heroes who lost their lives. Information and registration for the Veterans Parade is available at www.lincolnveteransparade.org.
