The holidays can be a particularly challenging time of the year for the children CASA for Lancaster (casa4lancaster.org) serves. This year, the organization is partnering with Nebraska Bank of Commerce, Thunderstone Manufacturing, and Kidwell to provide gifts through the CASA Giving Tree program.
Nebraska Bank of Commerce will display a Christmas tree with tags for CASA children. Each tag will include the child’s gender, age and wish list. The gifts will need to be returned to the participating businesses by Monday, Dec. 15. CASA volunteers will then deliver the gifts to the children. Please consider making the season brighter for an at-risk child in the community by choosing a tag and purchasing an item from a child’s wish list.
About CASA for Lancaster County
CASA for Lancaster County is a local nonprofit that recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in juvenile court. CASA volunteers get to know the children, as well as the circumstances and issues surrounding their families. They gather information and write reports that go directly to the judge, stating what they have observed and what they recommend as next steps. Volunteers also share the children’s needs and wishes, serving as the child’s voice in court. Learn more at (casa4lancaster.org) or contact them at (402) 474-5161.
