Choices Treatment Center (www.choicestreatmentcenter.com) is happy to announce that several members of their staff have recently passed necessary exams to become fully licensed or certified counselors.

James Blanchard recently passed the Alcohol and Drug Counselor Exam. James is now a provisionally licensed alcohol and drug counselor, and a provisionally certified disordered gambling counselor.

Althea (Buffy) Cornish recently passed the Nebraska Problem Gambling Certification Exam, her first certification. Brandy Atherton, Amy Loos, and Mike Sciandra also recently passed the Nebraska Problem Gambling Certification Exam.

These tests demonstrate an individual’s written proficiency in their specific addiction counseling field prior to full licensure or certification.

Choices Treatment Center offers a 24-hour helpline staffed by licensed counselors, individual and group counseling, and education sessions. Their counselors are certified with the Nebraska Gamblers Assistance Program. This program allows them to provide, at no charge to the client, assessments for problem/pathological gamblers, consultations/ interventions for problem gamblers and their families, financial counseling, and individual treatment. Choices staff is also available for presentations to schools, community groups, churches, and businesses on the problems of gambling/gaming. Counselors are dually credentialed to provide mental health assessments, family counseling, marriage counseling, substance abuse evaluations, DUI/DWI education program, anger management education, and budget and finance counseling.
