Leadership Harbor (leadershipharbor.com) has awarded Katie Brandt, the special education department head at Omaha Westview High School, the November Educator of the Month award.
“We are excited to accept nominations for the second year, of outstanding leaders in education. These educators are intentionally giving of themselves to add value to others. From the classroom to the office, the cafeteria to the bus, specialists, and paras to custodians, and everything in between – there are great leaders who deserve some recognition,” shared Kris Peterson of Leadership Harbor.
This is the first time Leadership Harbor has awarded a special education educator, the first time they awarded someone from the Omaha area, and the first time they awarded a high school educator.
“Katie is a leader who recognizes all students and exemplifies making learning fun, providing a safe space for those having a tough time, and recognizing teachers for their hard work,” the nominators noted.
Congratulations Ms. Brandt! The community is better because of the leader you are in and outside of your school.
