Beyond Vision’s Dr. Carla Ericksen Speaks at Lincoln Ladies Night Hosted by Fleet Feet
Fleet Feet (www.fleetfeet.com/s/lincoln) recently hosted a Ladies Night on September 29 where women had the opportunity to hear from educational speakers about detecting vision problems and risk signs of breast cancer. One of the featured speakers was Dr. Carla Ericksen, owner and optometrist at Beyond Vision (www.beyondvisionlnk.com). Dr. Ericksen is passionate about helping to detect gradual vision problems in women and how to obtain visual relief to help the entire body. Eyes make up 90% of a person’s day and can cause headaches, light sensitivity, physical tension, anxiety, and disrupted sleep if they are not taken care of. This freewill-donation event included a number of booths, appetizers and refreshments, and a raffle with all proceeds going to the Heartland Cancer Foundation. Booths included Amy Green with the Heartland Cancer Foundation, Lisa Gill with TOSSIBLES, Gayle Hochstein with Provision Chiropractic & Wellness, and Marisa Moseman with Chicory Lane Candles.
Dr. Ericksen was also joined by Mary Jane Glade as a speaker at the event. Glade is a nurse practitioner at CHI St. Elizabeth and sole practitioner at the High Risk Prevention and Survivorship Clinic. A main focus of her practice has been advocating for, guiding, and educating women with breast cancer and those at an increased risk of breast cancer.
