Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska Sponsors CHAD, 21 State Health Agencies

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) recently announced sponsorship of Combined Health Agencies Drive (CHAD; www.chadnebraska.org) and its 21 member charities, which will allow the agencies to provide critical care and resources to families and individuals suffering from chronic health conditions. The sponsorship, of an undisclosed amount, came prior to the kickoff of CHAD’s 2020-21 fundraising year in July, and at a time when the families it serves are suffering disproportionate repercussions of COVID-19 and need more support than ever.

During its annual campaign, CHAD works with employers across the state to connect individuals with health causes that are important to them. The BCBSNE sponsorship and funds raised through the campaign go to the member charities – toward vital programs and services, education and prevention programs, medical research and advocacy. In the 2019 calendar year, CHAD’s members referred more than 7,500 Nebraskans to professionals or resources, ensured 1,150 patients access to a specialized care center, and invested $567 million in medical research, along with their national affiliates.

Combined Health Agencies Drive is a local, donor-designation-driven organization that has been raising funds for Nebraska’s premier health charities since 1972. Since its inception, CHAD has raised nearly $60 million for charities supporting those in need.
