Certified Mastectomy Fitting Services Offered at Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center

Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center (SNCC; www.leadingcancercare.com) is now offering certified mastectomy fitting services from their Occupational Therapy (OT) team.

Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center’s OT team serves patients who are recovering from, or actively being treated for cancer and lymphedema. Now with the ability to provide mastectomy fitting services within an already unique setting, Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center is able to provide the option of custom breast prosthetics. This further supports SNCC’s comprehensive approach for identifying patients’ needs, in an environment that is private and comfortable.

Follow-up care is vital for improved survivorship and quality of life. Trained and certified mastectomy fitters are integral to the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of patients. The OT team provides education about the numerous options available and provides instruction on how to properly use and maintain post-mastectomy devices. Providing guidance and support throughout the process of recovery, the ultimate goal is to restore function as closely to what was normal prior to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. You do not need to be a patient of SNCC to utilize this service.
