Nebraska Community Blood Bank Offering Free Educational Sessions About Donation

What is the most common type of blood? What is my blood type? Whose life can I save? Whose blood can save my life? Why do I need to donate blood? Does giving blood hurt?

Help educate your colleagues by hosting a Lunch & Learn or blood typing event with Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB.org). These educational opportunities, hosted at your company, organization, or school, provide individuals the chance to participate in an informal conversation about the business of blood banking, the everyday need for blood donations and how blood donors, sponsors and volunteers help the community.

“People thought it was the most informative and interesting session they have attended in some time,” said Kim Kallhoff, Assisted Living Coordinator at Gateway Vista in Lincoln.  “Attendees were impressed!”

Everyone, who is able, should donate blood. But not everyone does. Why? The most common answer is that they were never asked.  Consider this our plea. Patients in local hospitals depend on Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB.org) to be there with the right blood type they need to survive. By taking steps to learn more about your blood type, about blood banking and the life-saving gift you can offer through blood donation, you are helping make a difference in the lives of those in our community.

To schedule your free educational opportunity, please contact Kari Lundeen at (402) 486-9427 / klundeen@ncbb.org.
