Next in SCIP Awareness Series: Fostering Youth Mental Wellness in a Stressful World

School Community Intervention & Prevention (SCIP, scipnebraska.com) of Lincoln Medical Education Partnership is inviting parents, students, school personnel, and community members to attend the next presentation in their community-awareness series, “Fostering Youth Mental Wellness in a Stressful World,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. February 25 on Zoom. The series is the result of SCIP’s partnership with Lincoln Public Schools, Bryan Independence Center, and the Lancaster Prevention Coalition, the goal of which is to share a series of valuable presentations that support the health and well-being of our community’s youth. No registration is required.

Series presenter Melissa Lafferty is a therapist with Nebraska Mental Health Centers and will discuss the role of stress on mental health and provide strategies that everyone can employ to promote mental wellness as a means to cope better with the stress of the current world around us. The role that teachers and parents can play to support youth by promoting positive coping techniques also will be addressed.
