Registration is now open for the 2012 Live Healthy Nebraska 100-Day Challenge, a wellness challenge beginning January 23, 2012.  The program offers friendly team competition in weight loss and physical activity minutes.

Throughout the 100 days, teams of 2-10 people receive weekly motivational tips to guide them toward healthier nutrition and exercise habits.  The participants periodically log their progress and can check their results on a leaderboard.  The leaderboard is sortable by state, ZIP code, company and department to encourage local challenges.

In 2011, 8,283 participants from 130 Nebraska companies lost 34,000 lbs and saved themselves and their employers an estimated $2.9 million in health care costs.
Special administrative functions, including custom employee pricing, private-label branding, company-wide messaging, inter-office challenge boards and a host of statistical reports are available to companies and organizations of all sizes.  Group administrators are encouraged to establish their custom Live Healthy program by submitting an administrator form at LiveHealthyNebraska.org.

The Nebraska Sports Council also offers webinars for company or community coordinators.  Those interested can email info@livehealthynebraska.org or visit livehealthynebraska.org for a webinar schedule.  For more information, contact Dave Mlnarik or Scott Ash at (402) 471-2544.
